The recent controversy involving Michael Phelps’ use of pot should teach him a lesson even if he is not going to be charged for such bad behavior. Richland County Sheriff Leon Lett said they have investigated the matter and found no evidence to pin Phelps with any charge.
Phelps, who has fourteen Olympic gold medals, is considered a youth model but his recent indiscretion has backlashed on his career not only as a swimmer but even as a product endorser. Phelps already apologized for his behavior but Kellogg’s has already dropped him as their official endorser. Subway also dropped Phelps from their website but said they are still willing to work with him.
He was also suspended by the USA Swimming for three months for his behavior and is not allowed to compete within this period. Lett said something should come out positive from this incident and Phelps agrees with this. He said this incident should not only teach Phelps a lesson but also parents who should take the opportunity to discuss illegal drug use with their children. It isn’t a lost cause for Phelps though because most of his advertisers are standing by him including Speedo.

Everyone seemsto forget that Michael Phelps is also a college student. I think they were right in not charging him.
